Managing Garden Pests for Roses and More

note: time is PST

The variety of roses we can grow here around San Francisco is astounding, and roses can provide nearly year-round blooms in our gardens.  San Francisco’s long growing season also means there is more time for bad bugs and diseases to develop.  Learn from expert Suzanne Bontempo about the diseases and insect pests particular to our area, and how to prevent those problems before they take over your roses and your garden.  Many pesticides can do more harm than good. She will show you how to manage garden pests such as aphids, whiteflies, powdery mildew, gophers and more. Please join us on Sunday May 9th, 2021, 1pm

Suzanne Bontempo, owner of Plant Harmony, also the Our Water Our World program manager, which is a program designed to raise awareness between pesticides and water quality. Suzanne works as an environmental educator, teaching the principles of Integrated Pest Management for sustainable, eco-friendly pest management around the home & garden. Suzanne has worked as a professional gardener for over 20 years, she is an IPM Advocate, a Bay Friendly Qualified Landscaper, QWEL certified, a Master Composter, and loves teaching folks how to grow bountiful gardens that are also safe and healthy for you, your family and the environment.
